Help:Thought pages

From creatorPedia, the creator economy encyclopedia

Every article on creatorPedia (cP) has a Thought page (also called a talk page on other wikis). This is where editors discuss improvements to the article.

What Thought Pages Are For

  • Requesting better sources
  • Discussing article structure or tone
  • Suggesting changes before making them
  • Flagging potential errors
  • Asking other editors for help

What Thought Pages Are Not For

  • Debating whether the creator is good or bad
  • Fan commentary or promotional messages
  • Personal conversations unrelated to the article
  • Complaining about the creator

How to Use a Thought Page

  1. Click the Thought tab at the top of any article
  2. Click Add topic to start a new discussion
  3. Type your message
  4. Sign with ~~~~ to add your username and timestamp
  5. Click Publish

Replying

To reply to someone:

  1. Click Edit next to their message
  2. Add your reply below theirs
  3. Indent your reply with a colon (:) at the start
  4. Sign with ~~~~

Example:

I think this article needs more sources. -- ~~~~
: I agree. I'll add some later today. -- ~~~~
:: Thanks! I added two citations. -- ~~~~

Guidelines

  • Stay on topic. Discuss the article, not the person.
  • Be respectful. Even when you disagree strongly.
  • Don't delete others' comments. Even if you disagree.
  • Archive old discussions. Don't let the Thought page get too long.

User Thought Pages

Every user has a personal Thought page. Other editors may leave messages for you there. You will receive a notification when someone messages you.
