Creatorpedia:Notability Guidelines
Core Threshold A content creator is eligible for a creatorPedia (cP) article if they have achieved significant recognition within the creator economy. cP's threshold is intentionally more accessible than traditional encyclopedias while maintaining standard Creatorpedia:Editorial Guidelines editorial guidelines.
Primary Criteria A creator meets notability if they satisfy any one of the following:
- 100,000+ followers across a single major platform (TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Twitch, etc.)
- Significant media coverage in at least two independent sources (may include tabloid/entertainment outlets)
- Notable achievement (platform award, verified record, major collaboration)
- Demonstrated cultural impact (trend originator, meme creator(*), format innovator)
Platforms Recognized TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Twitch, Twitter/X, Facebook, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Patreon, Kickstarter, and emerging platforms with significant user bases.
What Does Not Confer Notability
- Being mentioned in a single article
- Buying followers or engagement
- Brief viral moment without sustained recognition
- Being associated with a notable creator (notability is not inherited)
Regional and Niche Creators Creators with smaller but demonstrably significant followings in specific regions, languages, or niches may qualify. Evidence of local media coverage or community impact may substitute for follower counts.
Article Quality Meeting notability does not guarantee an article. Content must still meet verification standards and content policy.
Challenging Notability Editors may nominate articles for deletion if notability is not demonstrated. The burden of proof rests with those seeking to keep the article.
